The use of disguise if a common motif in medieval literature. Specifically, we will focus on the disguises that arise from marginality, as shown in “Tristan minstrel” in The Continuation of Perceval by Gerbert de Montreuil and the text known as “Folie Oxford”. We believe that the analysis of these performances and tricks will contribute to the study of medieval masculinities and the subversions that arise otherness brings.
